I WISH That Brooke could have some clothes that would fit her , so she would not fell bad about her size!!

Hello, everyone, My wish is for Brooke ,she has agined weight from her sezuire meds, and is now in juniors size clothes, she can still wear a 18/1/2 0r 20 in girls plus, but they so expensive at J.c penny's I cannot aford them. She needs thsoe sizes or a 9/10 in jeans in jrs and lrg. in sweat pants and a large or xlin juniors clothes. Just amking ends meet so its rough, but today she made me cry, she a said that she is ugly with her chuuby fat stomach!! Brooke is a beautiful girl and most of you know that I am her gram who has been raising her, (see profile for more info.) she says she looks like a stuffed cabbage in her clothes, we change her meds at this point becaus ethey really helping to control her sezuires! I feel like a failure as a mom!! If anyone can help it would be so great !! we don't mind used, and anything from jcpenny or the jcpenny outlet in plus for girls would work, also any juniors in the above sizes at walmart.com would work , they seem to ahve alot of clearance on line! I can do site to store pick up, as I said not picky at all but keep in mind she is only 9, so some juniors clothes may be to revealing! Pryaing for a hero.....hug to all..Dee

  I just want to thnak both heros and the clothes angels for granting my Brooke's wish!! She now has in style cute little wardrobe that fits her,and she is so happy!! Brooke is not feeling well, she had a sezuire last night , so when she's up to it I will be taking some pics.f her modeling her new clothes!! And I will email them to you all!!   She is BEAUTIFUL (saw picture on your profile)! Please do contact school counselor or teacher about the harassment. She deserves to be supported there as well as at home. Your love and concern are evidence that you are a great MOM---don't doubt yourself.

  Rae...when we brought our two handicapped children to a new school, where no one ever heard of fragile x syndrome, we asked to be allowed to have a mini assembly to explain to the other kids why the boys are like they are. It helped the other kids a lot to know that you can't catch fragile x....there are reasons for some of the behavioural issues, and that the "barky" noises Ev makes are just part of his tourettes syndrome....Ev also has seizures...explaining this to the kids helped an awful lot...now they look out for Ev, which is refreshing, compared to what used to happen to him.Kids make fun of what they don't understand...a psychological way to vanquish the fears they have about the unknown...Educating them will markedly improve your daughter's situation in school, and might make her some friends who will look out for her when a bully does approach.

  Yes, please make a walmart wishlist with these clearance deals for your daughter! I am so sorry that other children are teasing your daughter. I think you need to have a talk with your daughter's teacher and/or principal. It is harassment, and bullying and should not be allowed! It just sickens me to think that this happens a lot- yours is one of several wishes where children are teased because of their size! Countless more are in the same shoes.
  Your daughter is beautiful just the way she is!
  You are not a failure as a mom- others have failed, by not teaching their children compassion.

  I also take seizure meds and know what your talking about. Tell your Daughter size does not measure beauty. I pray for a hero for you

  I walk in your shoes everyday! My daughter also has seizure meds that made her gain weight, she is 9 and wears 18+ in pants and xlarge shirts. What I have found works good for her is capri's at walmart in misses sizes. She comes home from school crying alot of times because other kids ask if she's pregnant or call her names. her meds don't completely stop her seizures, but It makes them more manageable. Without meds she has up to 100 seizures a day with them we might see one or two a day. The weight gain is to me a minor trade off, compared to quality of life. But the self esteem issues and meanness of other children is hard to handle. Meg will often have accidents during a seizure and the newest thing they tease her with is calling her , "peepee pants". I can't offer clothes right now because of our situation but if your granddaughter would like someone to talk to, I bet Meg would love to have a friend that knows what she goes through. ~ Rae
